Steering Column Lock

Just a quick question. I've just got my first Prius, it's a '56', is it supposed to have a steering column lock? If it does have one, mine is not working.

The manual lists it in the index, but the page it references doesn't mention it.

Nope, it doesn't have one.

Thinking about it, if it did have a steering column lock, it would have to be an electrically operated solenoid/motor, now imagine what would happen if that developed a fault whilst you were driving and you suddenly found that you could not steer...
