Hi everybody,

both my electric windows have stopped working on my verso, and occasionally the light flickers on the drivers side window switch, and i also get a strange clicking sound coming from the door , the passenger side dosent work on its on switch either.

Would really appreciate any help and suggestions.

Many thanks

Could be a bad/loose connection at the switch, try pulling the connector off the switch and then reinsert to see if the fault disappears. also check that the passenger window is not in the locked position on the drivers switch assembly.

Have you checked the Battery connections? Clean the crud off them, put some vaseline on and then tighten them and make sure they aren't loose. If that doesn't work, change the fuse and if still no success buy a Haynes manual and that should be able to help. If that doesn't work either then you'll have to ring up a garage and hopefully they'll be able to sort it for you. If not then you'll have to take it to a dealer and that could be costly.

Or possibly the electric motors are at fault that drive the window mechanism esp if theres a clicking sound?

I would remove the door panels and have a poke about, could be something as simple as a loose wire.

If it is the motors, i'm sure you could get replacements from a scrappy or e-bay. :)

Many thanks for your reply raeman, i will try these things. i mentioned the clicking noise, but since then the clicking noise just starts randomly on its own! without me pressing any window buttons.

I would take the door panels off and switch the ignition on. Then when it does start to click, you will be able to hear it better and find out where it's coming from.

Does it do it whilst driving? If so, the motor might be rattling against something metal and it's shorting out.
