Daytime Running Lights

As I am running out of things to do, "add" to my rav, I am considering DRLs, seen a few "Ring" about £50>Hella about £170 now whats confusing me is the "Ring" ones come with a kit that turns them on when you start the engine + off when you turn your sidelamps on, will this make my Optitron dash lights go dim when the DLRs turn on? I would like to be able to turn them on or off when i want is this easy? I kinda had a thought about bendy ones like the Audi R8 etc but unless fitted inside headlights might look a bit NAFF, Jeremy Clarkson likened them to a "council house at Christmas" :D Any general views, opinions, Ideas, welcome its only an Idea at the moment, any ideas on wiring please keep simple, as i am not the sharpest knife in the box.. Your car, you like 'em, you do it. Enjoy it. Never mind what others think. If it makes you proud of your RAV it has to be good.

As to the technicalities, no idea. Remember 3 weeks ago I had to ask where the jack was stowed!

Why not go the whole hog and fit some fluorescents under your side steps too - your Rav will look like a Fairground ride then :D

Shouldn't affect your dash lights. Got to be careful with this one Stew or it will look a cobble up. You'll be wanting one of those red Knight Rider jobbies next!!!

My thoughts are these LINK Fixed under my A-BAR either side of the numberplate/ or below my numberplate in the lower grille, (will they look naff ?)

Hi Stew, just my opinion but I would say

But at the end of day it's YOUR Rav and if you like them then go for them Remember I had the same

quandry about fitting the side protection strips unpainted. But if it rocks your boat..........

Have to agree with dave.m and say no, i think it will clutter the front end stew in my opinion .
