I have used it on my old BMW windscreen and didn't think it was any good. Better to invest in decent Wiper Blades I think.

You don't... At least not (much) more than 3" or so...

I have been using a similar product, Carlack 68.. have been using it since I purchased the car, and it is very good! I am gonna get some flat Wiper Blades anyway, but Carlack sure helps :)

I use turtle wax rain repellant. And its actually good! I thought it was just a gimmic but my mate recommended it. It last ages aswell.. mine lasted about 2 weeks in the rain, lasted through a car wash and then survived the snow for a week or 2. So basically, one coat lasted about a month and that was with a lot of abuse on the windscreen lol

I've used it religiously for 20 years. Some people get bad results, but I've never had any problems on a variety of cars. Makes wipers almost redundant if you are going fast enough when it starts raining and when you do need wipers intermittent is usually adequate

Side windows need doing once and it lasts years. I do the windscreen about twice a year.
