Basically to find out which engine code my rav has. Rav xtr vvti....55 plate. for parts ordering when needed

Do you mean like:

2AD-FHV = 2.2 Diesel T180

2AD-FTV = 2.2 Diesel

1AZ-FE =

2AZ-FE =

4.2

1CD-FTV = 2.0 Diesel

?

Sorry, I don't normally take notice of the petrol ones.

It's very often easier just to quote the VIN when ordering. Most of the time, that usually ties in the engine.

My Rav Reg doc details are

2.0 VVTi

Sept 05

Engine no:1AZ*******

Variant: ACA21(W)

Version: ACA21R-AWMNKW(2F)

I am trying to ascertain wether mine is a mk2 or 3, not a hybrid of both. The internet keeps giving conflicting information, eg: 1AZ is a diesel engine yet others say petrol engine. Some say 2000-2005 others say 2003-2006. Can't seem to find a definitive answer.

just as a tip each official toyota site gives an engine type correctly.

toyota does officially export ravs here with:

1AZ-FE = 2.0 ltr petrol VVT-i

2AZ-FE = 2.4 ltr petrol VVT-i

I'm still not quite certain what you are trying to get at or maybe I'm just being dim. You know your engine is a petrol VVTi and there is only one which is the 1AZ-FE. There is some history in here;
