I hope someone can help! The fan in my car only blows out cold air. The pipes in the engine seem to be ok, and I dont have any engine trouble. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be? I thought it may be the knob/ control as this seems to move up and down with no resistance.

Also... the inside light was ripped out :( Is there any good/ cheap/ quick places in South London where I can get this fixed?

Thanks!

Have you checked your water level?

Also how old is the car, just drop into your local Toyota dealer and ask them what it might be.

From what I remember when my radio was removed,

the heater controls are reasonable to access. through the radio surround.

The Aygo uses slim steel cables to pull / push the actual controls from the heater dials.

Sometimes the clip which holds the outer cable in place can come loose.

(The inner and outer of the cable then move together and don't actually move anything usefull).

If this has happened, it should be a quick fix. (Radio out, press clip back in place).

If the actual cable has snapped, this is more involved.

I'm not sure of the cable routing on an Aygo.

Can't remember one ever being reported as snapped though.

I think it will be a radio out job (5 minutes).

Find cable clip. look for marks on cable......replace clip in same position.

Replace radio.

It's an 06 model. Toyota are gonna charge me £50 just to look at it, so wanted to see if its something I could look at myself.

Is it easy to remove the radio? I had looked at this but couldn't figure it out. If it's in the manual I will take another look though.

Thanks :)

Check the coolant level first.

As the Aygo doesn't have a temp gauge the water may be low, but the current cold weather means the engine is receiving enough cold air not to overheat and show the warning.

There is a problem with leaking water pumps, this would cause coolant loss.

Is it easy to remove the radio?

Remove blower knob (there's a little notch on the bottom where you can put in a small screwdriver),

then unscrew the srew now visible. Now pry the upper plastic away from the grey bits, start where

the knob was and work your way out and up. When you've got enough of a gap disconnect the rear defog,

hazzard and A/C switches, unplug the radio and tilt the panel further up, so it disengages the hook thet's top middle.

Ow if you look down into the hole you can see the cables (i believe their sheaths are blue) pm either side

and another one more in the middel, running to the side for the A/C's recirculation slider.
