Hi lads,

Have a 2005 2.0 D4D avensis, the engine management light has come on and have had the following codes,

P0108- Manifold Absolute Pressure Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

P0400- Exhaust gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction

The car seems to be throwing more black smoke via the exhaust and also is not picking up speed easily,

Any ideas what this could ?

Regards

Faz

  • 3 years later...

Check EGR Valve,

Remove and clean

then remove battery negative

and try again.

Hi I have the following codes:

P0108 & P1251 The mechanic checked turbo and inter cooler pipes for leaks and found no splits. He tightened all the clamps on pipes, reset the ecu fault codes and it worked for half a day. What seems to be the issue?

I have toyota avensis 2.0 D4D diesel 05 reg

interesting thread .... my mate is having very similar issues with his Audi A6 ..... the dealer has ripped him off changing turbo, pipes, etc.... now he's moved to a local garage who is take a more methodical approach.

They suspect there is a problem on the pipe seals...working one minute, then leaking.... so the problem for him is imtermittant

If he gets a solution I'll update (and vise versa!)

Faz1 - yours sounds like a dead cert EGR valve problem. Strip, clean and reassemble required.
