My insurance is due shortly and while filling out all the details, it asked what alarm/immobiliser was fitted and before anyone says "factory fitted" :D it was not an option. Its a 2005 2.0 D4D T2 Tourer. Any one with any ideas will be appreciated

Hi Kenny, not really sure what you mean but surely your car is immoblised through the key/door lock system even if you don't have an alarm fitted so it is factory fitted. You can test if you have an alarm fitted by leaving a window open locking the car with the remote and then putting your arm into the open window, if the alarm goes off you have the answer. Nobody under normal circumstances could start your car without the correct key so this is what the insurance company would require.

I hope I am on the right track here, regards Pete.

so what are the available options?

obviously if it's a text box you just fill in standard factory fitted

There are a few systems listed for Toyota. It is the only site to ask such a precise question. My current insurance provider has decided to match my lowest quote so I guess I will be staying with them. Thanks for the replies. Next time I go to a Toyota garage I will ask them

Hi,

Which insurance company are you using?

My insurance was changed last week using compare the market. It gave me the option of Factory fitted. So I would suggest trying another company or broker. The AA was the cheapest for me, for the options I wanted, through compare the market. It was cheaper than trying the AA direct by £23.

And if you had bought your AA car insurance through the Quidco cashback site, you would have got £50 cashback !
