Rear Lights

Hi all,

I've got a LC4 D4D, 2003 Landcruiser. Over the past few weeks I've noticed the passenger side rear tail light not working at all times. I got around to looking at it yesterday. First of all I swapped bulbs with the other side and both bulbs are fine.

I then removed alot of dirt to have a look at the wiring, and alot of it is in a right mess, looks very corroded. The actual wiring is a bit messy and the taping was a bit worse for wear which is probably why it is all so corroded.

There is a lot more going on at this side compared to the other side which is in fine form and very neatly wrapped and taped up. Maybe this is where the after market tow hitch was linked in by the previous owner??

So what I am asking for is if anyone has a diagram or indeed pictures of how the wiring should be. There is at least one wire loose (well corroded off - its brown) and it seems fairly obvious where the connector is that it came from, but I don't want to start joining up wires with out being sure.

The reason why it came to a head is that I was towing yesterday and the tail lights on the trailer did not work (probably related to the above), indicators on the trailer work fine.

Failing an examples, can anyone point me in the direction of what wiring I should be seeing?

Best Regards

Darren

Sorry I can't help with the wiring, but if the people that fitted the tow bar/wiring had used the correct plug and loom you wouln't have this problem, there is a designated plug inside the body to fit the loom, not sure if it's O/S or N/S, anyway have a search for TLOCUK forum and I'm sure that one of the members with the same model will be able to help.

Thanks I didn't know that. Maybe I'll tidy up the wiring to how it should be and rewire the tow bar wiring to where it should be.

Still waiting for my registration to come through on the TLOCUK forum.
