This is totally different from the subject matter and I have been guilty of this too. It would be better to start a new topic, but since I am here, will give some suggestions.

You need to see if any codes have been stored! This requires a scanner that deals with ABS VSC. Does the 'check VSC' come on shortly after starting? This means ECU mismatch or steering angle sensor not calibrated. I usually restart the car to clear the fault, and later delete the code (C1288).
