Have just sold my verso SR , I had quite a few problems with the first one and Toyota reluctantly gave me another new one.

It was been fine till a steering problem occured at 22000mls, we just couldnt get the steering fixed, it pulled to the left very badly and just couldt cure a wheel wobble, new tyes fitted and it was worse, My mechanic friend said it must be suspension.

Garage couldnt fathom out what it was.

After many wheel balances and trips to the dealers, it just didnt work as it should.

I got so frustrated by this I sold it.

I really liked the car, the power, handling was ok, loads of space, very comfy, huge boot for the dogs to be carried.

But this weird steering problem beat me.

Sorry to advertise them here but cannot do it elsewhere. (*YOU CANNOT ADVERTISE THEM HERE AS A NON SUBSCRIBING MEMBER*)

Cheers

Hiya,

Sorry this is my first post and i am not posting in response to the items you have for sale, i am more intrested in the problems you had with your Verso.

We have just recently bought a 08 Verso T-spirt 2.2D and we have the same problems as you. The car pulls to the left all the time badly. I have had it in and out of the dealers but they just keep fobbing me off saying its the camber (sp?) of the road, rubbish, i have had loads of other cars and none of them did this.

They have now eased the problem and it doesn't pull to the left as bad as before but its still there and the wheel wobble, they told me it was a feature of the car as it over compensates for bumps in the road?? They said this was a new thing but F1 cars have the same feature. Not sure if this is true or not ;) I don't feel in control of the car and driving in the aftermath of the snow was a nightmare!

Anyway, i was wondering if anybody else has had a problem like this??

I love the car but i am starting to wonder if we made a wise choice.....

Any help, comments etc would be greatfully recieved :)

Thanks

Lyndsey

they told me it was a feature of the car
If any dealer says this I would want them to prove it by letting me drive at least three examples of the same model to show they ALL behave in the same way. I would also question that unbalanced wheels (of which wheel wobble is a symptom) means the car is set up correctly and safe to drive.

If you are a member of a breakdown organisation (AA, RAC, Green Flag etc) you can ask them for an independent inspection of your car and take the findings back to the garage. Even if you just tell the garage you are gong to get the car inspected by someone like the AA (for a second opinion) they may change the story they give you.

Ohh good idea, thanks for the advice i am going to do that.

I have been worried but because they told me it was fine and i don't have a clue about the mechanics of cars i just took their word for it!

Many thanks again

Lyndsey
