Hi Does anybody know if the plastic strips on the side of the Aygo can be removed? Recently got an aygo with the protection pack, but i think the lines on the side of the car are spoilt by these. Are they just sticky back?

Thanks

As far as I know they are stick backed yes. But as far as removing them properly with out damaging anything I wouldn't like to say how good the glue is. =/

Thought about removing mine, but decided against it because of how often I hear about people getting dints in car parks. And they spoil the lines of the car less than a dint does IMO.

Assuming that they came as an extra pack and are not colour coded then I would wait until we get some warm weather and use a powerful hairdryer to soften the glue and they should peel off without damage, just take your time and once they syart to lift at one end play the haet in the gap between the strip and the door.

I'd be inclined to leave them, not least because you could do more damage than you anticipate in removing them...but also should you pick up a dink - that'd look much worse than the rubbing strips.

Leave it alone mate, remember you're looking inside out of the car - so if those strips are in place, you wont see them ;)

Scuff plates came off fine. Used a hairdryer to soften the adhesive and a bit of fishing line to start them off. looks loads better.

Until some !Removed! decides to open a door into it.

Like they help at all... Just have a look at the rear doors of an Aygo,

the widest bit is allmost a foot above where the side protectors are...

You would be suprised. Some Audi driving woman at my office opened her door full speed into my car door ( i was walking up to my car when she did it) and after a few choice words and her being more appologetic than i have seen before i realised she had a little door protector shape dint in the end of her door, and on the aygo? not even a scratch.

Well worth the slightly off look imo.
