40k Service

Just been quoted £310 for the 40K service on my wifes' Rav 4.2

Toyota claim its the big one which includes the gearbox fluids.

Is this normal/reasonable? What are your experiences on this price?

I had my 4.3 for the full 20k sevice a couple of months ago at Mr T & cost £185 with the diff oils and transfer oil changes included . So that sounds dear to me , unless the 4.2 service is dearer . I would ring round a couple more T garages to check there prices as they vary . I did and got quoted 3 different prices !

Rang around and the dearest was £315, cheapest was £277, so my local dealer has pricematched. Still seems steep but its gotta be done before the warranty runs out.

Also need 2 rear tyres and I don't like the OEM Bridgstones. Plenty of life in the fronts (6mm) but the rears are 3mm. Anyone got options on Kuhmo KH31s or Marshall MU11s?

£185 seems about right for a basic service, 40k is a bigger one and you should be getting the fuel filter replaced in that price as well as the extra oils/fluids so if they've matched £277 it seems like a decent price for a Mr T.

Had my 40000 service on my 4.2 4d-4 done last Easter at a Toyota dealer , cost £226.77.

Booked same garage for 50000 service in two weeks time.

Had my 50000 service done today £148.98 .

Told that next one 60000 is a biggie 4 hours ,need rear brake shoes and timing belt . Anyone had this service done recently?
