Hi all ive have an Ipod intergration kit (Toyota optional extra) which allows you to see your songs playlists on the Sat Nav touch screen etc. This used to work fine on my Ipod Nano however I cannot see any connection with my new iPhone 3GS (the intergrated phone works fine with it though).

I think I may need to change the cable to enable me to see my songs via my iPhone. Any ideas? Cheers M

Hi,

Clemo. Sorry I have no help for your question but do you have the toyota product code for the full ipod integration kit for the TNS510 on the IQ. I have just ordered an IQ3 with Nav and when I asked my dealer they did not know anything about the ipod integration kit for the TNS510. I would like them to add it before the vehicle comes on 1st March. Also do you have a rough price fo the kit.

Thanks in advance,

Pieman99

I paid £160 in December 2009 for my iPod integration kit when I ordered the Vehicle from Jemca in Sidcup.

It shows songs for both my 3G iPhone and my wife's 3Gs. The telephone connectivity is provided by a bluetooth connection and not the cable, which is only for songs.

The iTunes navigation software used the in-built satnav thing, which cost me nearly a grand, is fairly poor. There is 'menu' and 'direct' selection, which is very confusing. Several of the methods used to navigate your songs on your iPhone aren't supported by the system. There doesn't seem to be a way to navigate 'up' from a song. You have to go back to the main selection screen every time.

It's quite dangerous to use when driving as you are trying to read little titles. I suppose you should just create a playlist on your iPod (no smart playlists supported) and set that playing so you don't run over the next mother and baby while listening to Cate rapes dog.

The cable is about 2ft long and a bit stiff. It just sort of snakes around the central console area getting in the way. There isn't anywhere secure to leave your iPhone either, unless you have a passenger side toyota bag or want it in the cup holder, with the stiff wire wrapped round your gear stick.

The fitting also involves adding a female receptor in the lower console where you plug-in the cable. The console is tagged 'ipod'.

As a professional usability consultant I review a great deal of interface designs worldwide. In my opinion, the usability of the Toyota satnav suite of software (audio, navigation, iPod) isn't the best. I wish they had built on Apple's API to provide a more compatible and intuitive interface.

In conclusion, if you want to save money then stream your songs via the bluetooth connection, copy them to a USB stick or use an audio lead to jack into the 3.5 mm headphone socket. One very useful feature is that the iPod connector also charges your device, which the aforementioned connection suggestions don't/

Hi im budgin in on someones question here but it is linked. I have the bluetooth handsfree Kit for my IQ, i have been streaming music quite happly but was wondering whether there was a way to control skipping of tracks on the handsfree unit itself? it will play and pause but the up and down arrows which in the manual says it will skip track if the device is compatible dont doing anything except turn volume up of the voice recognition. Does anyone know if iPhone 3GS has the AD P2 profile? i think its that anyway. So it lets you control wirelessly as well has stream music? Im sure toyota pulled some litrature of the internet stateing that the iPhone was compatible with all the syestems funtions? If any one can help that would be great. I find the IQ so effortless with the smart entry and start and all the auto funtions, it would just be great to set a my phone to shuffle wait for the link up and then control from the unit no Handsfree attached to the windscreen unless for sat nav kinda thing! thanks guys
