i have an iregular tickover on d4d avensis 2008 6 speed model can i spray anything up through the intake on the airbox e.g carb cleaner or trottle body cleaner

The tick over is always "irregular" in cold weather until the engine is fully warmed up, it is to do with the heating system etc. I bought mine last winter and noticed it on the text drive and the dealer explained it all

Hi I have a 07 d4d also 6 speed and have the same problem sometimes its fine but then its erratic needle up and down,went to dealer and diagnostic test showed nothing its so annoying

turn off your aircon and heaters when car is cold

yes as CMIA suggested -- start the engine + switch OFF A/C and fan. the needle must be fixed and after some secomnds it does down slightly. Try to drive unless the themp needle will ocupy a central normal working position + see the RPM clock --- whether or not the needls is at constant position or not?? Your observations will help us to send a possible reasons. Cheers/Igor
