How Much To Fix Scratches? Could Be Done At First Service?

Hiya!

Wondered if anyone could help please! I have my first service next week and noticed this morning that a lovely person has either knocked or scraped with something the front of my aygo :( Its right by the number plate, and consists of only a few tiny inch scratches, however one has gone down to the metal! Absolutely gutted haha!

Does anyone know if this could be looked at whilst being serviced? And if so how much would it cost to repair? I have a 3 year service plan so that's covered, so just for the scratches?

Thanks!

Hi There.

Front bumper is plastic so there's no rush, it won't rust.

However. Insurance job with Toyota removed & resprayed front bumper

will be VERY costly......

BIG JOB

Toyota paint is water based, flexible, metallic etc.

I'd suggest "chips away" type people or somebody local with a reputation for

small jobs done to a high standard.

As I said, the plastic won't rust so there's no need to rush. Find somebody who will do a "proper" job,

not a quick job.

I'd be inclined to leave it personally. Cars get used, they pick up dents and scratches...you can sometimes do little to avoid them. Unless it is something big, obvious and well hideous...then get it fixed. Otherwise, let it be :)

Agree with Unklian regarding a smart repair, Chips away or similiar.

I wouldnt let chips away anywhere near my car to be honest, I am the body and paint specialist at our local Toyota centre and we charge avg £130 inc vat for a bumper corner to be professionally painted using Toyota / Dupont paint product and the vehicle then baked in an oven. The results are flawless and worth paying a little extra for if you take pride in your cars appearance

Thanks for your responses, haven't had chance to get a piccy up yet! Honestly it isn't that bad but I would prefer it not to be there haha! I am a very poor student midwife so even though it doesn't sound a lot, £130 is a lot for me, more than half the bursary I get each month (most used to pay for this lovely aygo haha) so if done properly, I guess I'll have to wait!

For small fixes Toyota sells a small bottle of paint. I will try with this as some one has made a small scratch to door and the bumper.

One small scratch here and a minor scuff there. Come on people its just an Aygo :P

his car lives its life in the Urban Jungle ;) Let it be. by tampering and tinkering you could make it much worse than it is. Plus you will always pick up the odd dink/scrape now and again. Just accept it, let it be and enjoy the car :)
