hi all. anyone know how to dismantle the above before i break any clips etc or a link please..

regards

what exactly are you looking to take apart. the dash around the radio will simply pull off. if you hold it from where it meets the ashtray and pull gently it should come off no problem

Hi yeehaa,

I took the plastic silver 'rectangle' around the base of the gearlever cover off, just make sure you do not break it as it is quite thin, I slightly pushed one side in and made my way around it.

DO NOT PULL the gearstick cover off at this point.

I then used the same method with my fingers ( I know its not professional but getting tools at xxx pounds did not appeal to me!) starting from the rounded end farthest away from the front of car, i pushed in to get that side off.

DO NOT TRY THE OTHER END CLOSEST TO STEREO as the clips are there and you will break them.

I then carefully pulled the bottom part up to lower the top part to enable the clips to come down to move.

I know this doesnot sound right but trust me when you do it, it all fits into place.

I then lifted up the plastic part around the gearlever as it is now off but still connected to the gearstick cover, so that it was above the gearlever, turned it slightly round to see the base of the gearlever and again slightly pushed in the piece that is connected to the base of the cover (it is similar as the chrome surround we took off first) and then it is off!!!!!

Hope this helps you..

My toyota integrated ipod kit is now fully operational!!!

Next project is the HID lights!!! :)

Regards

Lungo

p.s. u are doing this at your own risk.... i hold no responsibility!!!
