Upper Brake Light White Blocks ?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi, Sealed my upper brake light and the leakage seems to be better now apart from both of the little white plastic blocks you screw into when tightening the brake light are constantly turning so i cannot get the screw fully tightened onto the bodywork which off course will not help with leaking problems, also having problems removing the screws as well as the blocks just turn and turn. Can you buy these replacement blocks and if so what are they actually called....Colin

The nylon block you should be able to pop in to any larger body shop and they may keep a box of different sizes of this fitting ( just make sure you take the old one as a pattern ).

After checking the sealant i put on which looks okay i fitted the light back on this morning and did the hosepipe test and still a slight leak due (99.9% certain) to that i cannot tighten up the screws fully as they just keep turning. Took out the 2 blocks which was not easy at all and i paid a visit to 2 of my local car factors, neither did anything like the blocks, so i have ordered 2 from the main dealer..(£1.24 each) none in stock but will not be in till Tuesday  :o , so hopefully when i fit the new blocks the light will no longer leak.....Cheers Colin

The plus side of the AYGO being a joint venture you could have got the blocks from a Peugeot or Citreon dealer.....or still can :)

Well i rand Peugeot and you cannot just buy the nylon plugs, you have to buy the light as well as they come as a kit, total price £18.27 + vat (not bad price for a light), then i rang Citroen and the guy in parts said you cannot buy the plugs you have to buy a complete crossmember (i think he was pis*ed) , so will just wait till Tuesday for the nylon plugs to arrive in Lindops Queensferry

Hmm ...i was quoted £53.00 for a high level lamp unit from Toyota  , so i bought a Peugeot 107 unit off eBay for a tenner :) .
