Not had much time lately to work on the car.

Exhaust is complete, but I'm not very happy with it. Needs a bit of altering.

Engine is ready to start, but needs the oil filter relocation kit. Been ordered, will take a few days as its from H-Kong. Original top rad hose was pressing against the turbo, swapped with one of a ST205 and its a perfect fit.

In the mean time working on the intercooler.

Also thinking about a respray.

As the car is red (faded), was going to go red again, but with black bonnet and black roof. Side rubb strips and bumper rubb strips will remain black.

May also tint the windows in legal tint.

Also dropped in a Celica ST202 fuel pump. Fuel filter changed. Irridiun plugs fitted - GT4 speific.

All done now.

Intercooler all fitted and plumbed in. Turbo to intercooler to throttle body. All pipes painted black to keep it looking as stealth as possible, even used black silicone and painted the jubilee clips black.

Will post pics by the weekend at latest.

Some pics

All in black to keep stealth look.

Also, top rad hose is of the ST205 and see how it clears the turbo.

ST185 intercooler inplace. Lower pipe is into I/C and higher pipe is out off I/C to throttlebody.

Closer view of lower pipe - goes behind intercooler.

St185 Map sensor. Plug and play with ST202 injectors. Some fuel correction will be required.

I've just read through your thread, very interesting project you have going on here

Thanks PaulinhoT

Car all done now and running - like a dream :)

Took it for a spin on a stretch of road owned by my dad ;) and the way it now drives is amazing to say the least. Pulls very strongly through the gears - did not rev it beyond 4k as my fueling is not set up perfect. The exhaust sound is deep but not too loud. Tyres struggle for grip in second from just 2.5k and I'm running 205/50/16's

Only problem is that exhaust is still a bit too low, so been sorting that out.

More to follow.............:)

Yeah keep us updated with whats going on

Front half sorted and centre box tucked in deep. Now have to realign the rear half.

Can't wait to get this done and feel it properly on the road.

But too busy this week and prob next, so will have to wait.

Think this car will be a :toast:

Also want to disable the EGR valve.

Will removing the vaccuum pipes do the trick??

Exhaust all sorted and the fit is sooo good, don't know why Toyota did'nt do it this way. Rear is under the subframe and does not catch the bumps even though the car is lowered. Will get some pics soon of the set-up. Talk about straight through!

Took the car on the road for a quick blast and it feels strong. Wheel spin in third (205/60/16)! Boosts to 0.7bar and holds to the red line, but now the clutch started slipping. Got a ST202 sport clutch, so that will have to be changed next.

Also got to get a wideband to make sure that its not running lean - bit rich is ok.

will also use it to adjust the Apexi SAFC - fueling.

Then MOT and have fun.

More to come :D

Done nearly a 100 miles and all looks good. Boost limited to .5bar and its amazing how well it goes. Soo much low down torque, midrange and topend is also vey strong. But clutch is beginning to show signs of weakness. Got a sport clutch to go in.

After that will upp the boost in .1 bar increments to .8bar and thats where it will stay.

:) :) :) :) :)

Just bought 1 of these

Innovate LC-1 LC1 wideband lambda fuel air sensor

Gonna up the boost now to 0.8  bar and see how she goes.

Should be knocking on 200 brake :yahoo:

As the Carina is lighter than a lot of performance cars out there now - should give them a run for their money, at least in a straight line :D

Comments???
