i had some trouble with my car, i have had the gearbox out and a bearing has gone and also the teeth have come off the cogs .

We have decided to get a gearbox and i was just wondering if it was possible to put a gearbox out of the mk1 yaris into a new shape 56plate ...

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Thanks in advance ..... Hannah06

oh, just to help things along, i thought i would point out its a 1 litre.

just wanting to know if the 99/2005 shape is the same gearbox as the 2006/2009

had a play with the search function but not having much look so thought it would be quicker to ask

Thanks ..... Hannah06

It is highly unlikely that the old shape Yaris 1.0 litre gearbox would fit the new shape 1.0 litre car as the old shaped 1.0 engine was a 4 cylinder engine and the new shape 1.0 yaris engine is a totally different design 3 cylinder engine with a redesigned gearbox.
