Do Not Open Your Boot With The Key...

Recommended Posts

I've been opening my boot with the key recently, and the other day the **** thing snapped ~150 miles from home, as I was opening the boot to get a bag out. At first my face was like this :o .

RAC bloke came out and made a fix on the ignition switch, I can start the car now with the broken key in the ignition and turn the switch with a house key. Very easy to do you need a screwdriver though.

That sucks!

But how did it happen?! The key can't be *that* fragile! It is even a metal key?!

What age is the key and what age is the car.

Surely if the key is old and worn why blame the poor boot lock - CRAZY!!!

When did you put some graphiteoil in the boot lock? Keys are very fragile, even if they are made of metal. You better keep the locks well lubricated with graphite oil to avaoid things like this to happen.
