Be thankfull it's only £175. A couple of years ago I needed a new alternator for the 4A-GZE engine in my Corolla - Toyota quoted me in excess of £300 for a replacement. Thankfully my mechanic was able to make one good one from two broken ones - only cost me £30 for his time :)

It is not unknown for alternators to be repaired. It may be worth trying around a few auto electricians for estimates.:)

If you can remove and fit it yourself all the better.:)

See what else fits...

I have found lots of Toyota altenators are interchangeable.....

If a mkiii supra one fits give me a shout, I have a few spare!
