Hi everyone

I bought my Yaris on saturday 01 plate.and pick her up this coming Saturday, could someone tell me please what the differance is between the GLS and the CDX?.

I've always had Toyota's to me they can't be beat....I'm gutted because I need to sell my MR2 :( but just can't afford to run three cars and the truck is our family/dog car (we have two huge dogs, mastiff and a malamute) the yaris will be my work car so the MR2 has to go.....

To quote the "January 2000" Yaris brochure I still have in the cupboard, the differences between the GLS and CDX are air con, CD player & 14" alloy wheels. The 1.3 CDX (but not the 1.0) also had ABS, although in 2001, ABS was then standardised across the whole range.

I very nearly bought a 5dr 1.3cdx when Yaris hunting but i saw the SR and payed £300 more. Plus with the SR i got ABS, air-con, 15" wheels, TTE exhaust and rear spoiler.

I think the SR was one below the t-sport and one above the CDX.....Although i could be wrong.

Yes, the SR had a good spec.

Again, in the 2000 brochure, it had ABS, a unique cloth trim, leather steering wheel and gear knob, 15" alloys, air con, cd player and a rear spoiler.

It didn't have a sunroof though, nor pockets in the back of the front seats (the GLS & CDX had both). The CDX had a velour trim (a level above cloth).

I don't think the T-Sport had been released in 2000, so at the time the SR was the sole "sporty model".

The SR was the "sporty trim" - with bigger alloys, leather steering wheel and a rear spoiler. The CDX was the luxury trim, with velour upholstery, sun roof and pockets in the seat backs.

The SR was also only available as a 3-door, so if you wanted a 5-door, you were limited to the GS, GLS or CDX.
