Beep Sound From Glovebox

We have a 2007 (57 reg) Yaris which is a 1.3 petrol T-spirit with the smart entry system.

My wife drives the car day to day with the kids and locks the doors from the inside for safety.

She has noticed the last few days that when she shuts off the engine and unlocks the doors with the switch (by the electric windows switch) a beep sound is heard from the passenger side glove box/footwell.

The other day before getting out of the car she locked and unlocked the doors several times and the beep sound kept happening.

There was one occassion she said where there were constant beeps sounding and the sound got quieter before it ended as though there was a flat Battery??????

Any one else had this happen to them???

Thanks.

Hmm,

I have a 55 T Sport and sometimes after turning the engine off and opening the door, I can hear a beeping (non continuous, no instruments left on), but it sounds like its coming from the engine bay rather than the passenger footwell. After shutting the door and locking it the sound goes away...

Sorry I couldn't really help!

Sounds like the ignition is still on, press the Stop/Start button to make sure its all turned off and the key is out of the car. It goes from Off/Accessories/On and back again.
