Rear Window Defogger

Hi Guys,

The rear window defogger has stopped working - the light comes on the switch, but it fails to defog any of the window. I've seen a couple of threads about checking the actual element in the rear windiow, which i can do when i have the car (the wife has it), but does anyone know anything else that might be wrong? A fuse maybe? (haven't noticed anything else not working)

Thanks

Wayne

If you have a multimeter you can put the probes either side of the connectors on the rear screen and see if you get 12v on it. if you do, them the problem must be with the screen its self, Maybe one of the elements has been sctratched/cut by accident, or even burn out.

If you don`t get 12v then it could well be a blown fuse. of a break in the wiring somewhere.

If its a break in the screen element, you can buy conductive paint and see if that will work.
