Hi there I am looking at buying a 96-98 car, but need some info on them. (Pics also if you have got them :D)

Here goes:

How hard is it to source replacement parts?

How reliable are they without tuning?

What insurance company are you with? (need to know with it being an import)

Are there any clubs/dedicated websites for them?

ok i dont have a v ive an s but apart from the turbo their the same car more or less so i'll answer your questions as best i can

1- parts are easy to source and most are mass produced by several companys.

2- like all japaneese cars reliableity is'nt an issue, these cars are made to start every morning without fail and built to incredablely high standards.

3- i live in ireland so someone else will answer this one for you.

4- toyotaownersclub.com

Parts can be had through Fensport or through the national parts suppliers of most garages if you can get the part number.

Toyota reliability.

Tesco insurance for me.

Sounds good to me if reliability is good and parts are easy to source.

I am just a bit concered about the quote I got from Elephant. I told them it was a 97 car, but not a Glanza because they didn't know what that was. So they would insure it as a GT Turbo. Am I right in thinking that it can only be the Glanza as that was the only one produced in for that year?

Also emicen how are you liking your car? and what's it like to drive?

Also how do you on on with MOT's etc..?

out of all the companys i have tried Adrian Flux where the best BUT you have to be 19 for Adrian Flux.

Tesco's quoted me £5000 but then i am only 18

Better stick with my Swift GTi for 3 more months

insurance is expensive on these imports because parts are so dear...

£510 for a front bumper from toyota gives u an idea of what i mean.

Well as soon as the government stop **** me around and pull their finger out their ***** and get me an SVA space, I'll let you know! What I can say from the drive up from Bristol to Glasgow: it's a rocket! With the mods done to it I believe it should be pushing closer to 150hp and it feels it!

Parts really aint a problem and MOT is no worse than any car.

Insurance is only really problematic on account of them not knowing what it is, price wise its about the same as any other car about the same performance - VTi's, VTS's etc (OK, they arent quite as fast but you get the idea)
