Hi, I've been searching around for a beanbag SatNav mount.

I want to place it on that handy little shelf above the radio in the Aygo, but they all seem too big - if anybody has one that would be suitable I'd be very pleased to hear of any recommendations.

The nearest I've found is the Arkon Mini, but even that is too big.

Thanks for your help.

Make your own. One small bag, some rice. Put rice in bag, seal bag.

Your reply is appreciated but not what I had in mind. Perhaps somebody else can offer a more helpful suggestion - I'm not into DIY.

They have to be a certain size to be a certain weight to hold the sat nav up. If it was too small and light it always fall over. Halfords do one for £10

Thanks, I bought that one but had to return it - it was huge! Size of a dinner plate, and not pliable enough to fit on the Aygo dash.

Try Amazon, they have a wide range of satnav cushions.

I use a big blob of Blu-Tak (about 8cm3 since you're asking) broken into four equal pieces to attach my sat-nav to the shelf since I lost the window sucker. Blu-Tak also comes in handy for holding other things (shopping lists, tickets etc) in place when I am not using the sat-nav.

I use Velcro. This works very well, the only problem being the piece attached to the dashboard gets very sticky if exposed to sunlight for a long period of time.

None of the bean bags I've found will fit that neat little shelf - the smallest I've come across is the Arkon Mini but even that is just a tad too big. I'll try the Blu-Tak idea I think (thanks for that!). I could pull that off when not using the satnav so as not to give any indication there might be something in the car worth breaking in for.

I'd also like to use that little shelf for a portable mount - but in my case for my phone (now that Nokia provide free satnav :D ) rather than a full-size satnav unit. Blutack option is a bit iffy - if I wedge the phone in, in landscape mode, the camera button on top gets pushed !

Have you seen or tried the dash-mat (smaller version of the huge nav-mat) ? http://www.navmat.co.uk/shop/product.asp?s...D=&P_ID=122

No dimensions published so no idea whether it'll fit or not.

Also the Amzer beanbag looks v similar to the Arkon you mentioned, but again no dimensions published.

Or perhaps does anyone know of a vent mount that'll fit onto the Aygo's bizarre centre vent ?

Failing any of that, it's looking like a Brodit - although the collection of bits I'd need to fit two cars tops £65 !

I've just found this - perhaps it would do the job? Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be the right fitting for my satnav but I've written to the seller to see if they do one for the model I have. eBay item number 370301676610.

I just installed a brodit holder and they are awesome quality.

Well worth the money.

I got the one that attaches to the left hand side of the stereo FYI.

Or stick one of those discs you get for the suction mount on to the shelf.

Then you can use the suction mount to hold the Sat Nav in a great location with great visibility.

Once you leave the car remove sat nav and suction mount and if you don't like your disc showing on the shelf(it's black so shouldn't be too obvious) you can put a cloth or similar on the shelf covering the disc over.

Works a treat in my one.
