Putting A 4age 130 Bhp Hitorque Twin Cam In A Carina E

i have a custom car that has the 4age engine in it

its a 1993 corolla 130 bhp twincam high torque engine

that im planning to replace with a nissan s14 2 litre turbo

so ill have a spare 4age engine with 90000 miles on it

id like to put it in my 1993 carina

to take her from 105 to 130 bhp

ive been told the 4age will bolt on to my carina gearbox

im thinking ill need to use the corolla ecu and engine loom

but what clutch would i need

would a corolla friction plate fit on the carina shaft

i also noticed that avensis front brakes fit our carinas

is this an easy swap for the front brakes

dont know if the rears would need swapped

i must look into this bit

what engine is in the carina now?

if it is a 4A series engine then should be a straight swap. as for clutch im not 100%, might be trial and error.

brakes should also be a straight swap. for the power you are running the rear drums should be fine.

For even better brakes , you can use Celice ST202 discs and calipers - straight bolt on, I did on mine.

I can tell you something interesting about swap of 20-valve 4A-GE "blacktop" into Carina E if you want. This foto is two with a half years old as you see.

To me it sounds like you have the 7A-FE engine as you mention 105 hp. The 4A-FE had only 99 hp, as far as I know.

You can belive me...this member BESO...from Russia ,S-Peterburg,he has Toyota Carina E with 4A-GE and Corolla 95' with 4A-GE engine...He knows evrything about Toyota... it's true .And His future project is Carina E 3S-GTE 4gen, E150F(4x4) ,for this project he is looking for power steering from Celica ST205 (4x4) LHD/-if anybody can help to get it //will be very kind of you

its's the best Carina E club in the world...this is true without exaggeration.

not in any other forum, you will not find so much useful information and a large concentration of inventive auto enthusiasts (of Carina E)
