Hi

How do you think the latest Toyota problems will reflect on trade in prices for an Auris

Trade in for another make or trade in for another 2010 toyota.

Some dealers try to cut the trade in price as much as possible. The silly excuse is that it is toyota so now poeople my not be that interested and is going to be difficult to sell. Other seems to be OK. I have Lancer test drive next week. The trade in price they offered seems to be OK and If I like the car Auris will be gone.

I got a better trade in than I expected against a new RAV4 2.2 XTR 150.

trading in for another Toyota shouldn't be a problem, one dodgy motor for another = easy deal.

Looking for something with a bit more credibility, well that's when you might struggle, aim low, and I'm thinking Kia, Hyundai, Tata, G-Whiz etc, then you should be okay. Go prestige like Mercedes, Saab, Porsche, Audi etc, and you may get laughed off the forecourt.

You'd reaaaly class Saab as prestige?

really?

The Saab 9-3 and 9-5 are both Vectra based - hardly prestige. Vis-a-vis Mondeo and Jaguar X-type. Saab haven't made a profit since being owned by GM.

be interesting to see Toyota's profits for this year, and the next, oh and maybe even the next. All those recalls..................

For the final quarter of 2009, Toyota made a profit of $ 1.7 billion. The recalls will cost them $ 2 billion. Still far healthier than Saab.
