hoping for some help - i have noticed a noise coming from my engine over the last day or two - it comes and goes hard to figure out what it is or pinpoint exactly where - when car is a low revs i can hear it and when i popped bonnet it is coming from right hand side of engine as you look in..kind of sounds like a belt slipping but the belt is on the left side looking in maybe a bearing not sure...any help or anyone had something similar happen please let me know..cheers

The clutch and gearbox are on that side of the engine, if pressing the clutch pedal down stops the noise it could be the release bearing.

Sorry to hear that, just had my clutch changed due to slipping but it was done under warranty. Talking to the guys that did the job most of the work is from underneath the car so you would need a lift or pit to get reasonable access. If you do take it out replace the plate, cover and thrust bearing as doing less is false economy. Ask around locally to find a well respected 'fast fit' bay. Theres nothing special about the parts (£150 for the lot).

Good luck.
