Hi there,I've just got a price for front guard for my 52reg rav 4, £240ish, does anyone know if this is a good price.I drove my rav into the back of a nasty escort 2 weeks ago my fault I know, so I thought while the bumper is off may as well get one fitted, another question would I have to tell my insurance? Thanks for any help. Karl.

hi karl

welcome to the club

yep £240 is a good price,TBR based in harwich (near me ) advertise several for around £280 ish i believe.

no, dont think insurance need to know as its does'nt affect performance.

i have all terrain tyres, roof mounted lights, none of which affect my insurance. ;)

or speak to 'bothwell buyer' who has uprated....almost race spec rav's from what i gather..he may have more info

hi again karl

i went to glen coe a few yrs ago, stayed in altshelak ?....

whilst i was there i did 'the ben' on a clear ish day,and another munro close to where i stayed.

also did the beatuliative el more,at the start of glen coe valley,on the edge of rannock moore...but as you see my fav places are in the lakes.

down here in essex (north essex),its very flat indeed, a few rolling hills in suffolk.

i go off roading / green laneing a few times a year in my rav4,following a freelander & a jimney, and have often thought about a 'front guard'..but just too expensive for a sheet of 6mm aluminium,so i just creep along in 1st applying clutch and brake when needed.

i have also thought about a winch bumper & winch (seen one on 'rav4world.com) somewhere but again ..too much money.

:g: really need a landcruiser

but just waaaaay too much money :(
