Does anyone know the correct oil spec for use in a T180 Avensis? I have used Fully Synthetic oil and I have been told told that normally it should be semi synthetic. Is this correct and will it cause any problems?

Hi Trev, you are ok with the fully synthetic 5w-30 oil, just click on the Opie Oils tab at the top of the forum screen, type in you car car and the results will come up, fully synthetic is what they recommend anyway, give it a go.

Regards Pete.

Hi,

I have always used Fully synthetic in all the cars I have had over the past 14 years. Fully synthetic oil does not burn the same as multigrade or semi-synthetic. But one of it's main advantages is it takes much higher temperatures before it breaks down.

Which is always an advantage in an oil burner.

t-spiritpete is correct again, with the spec of oil.
