In the other seat thread Frost found Seo brackets made by Corbeau.

I've just enquired through Demon Tweeks & they in turn spoke with Corbeau UK - turns out they are available in the US but can't be imported to the UK. :(

So we're back to stage one, no brackets. The new Rage seats come with universal brackets but I've heard they're lame...

Any ideas? I bet they are the same if not identical to the Corolla or Starlet & or Tercel but how can we find out? <_<

damn! really!? that sucks! i thought we were sorted :crybaby:

oh well - anyone got a friend with a corolla who can try the brackets out for size!?:thumbsup:

Really annoying as I had a set of seats lined up on e-bay to bid on. :(

not sure bout those rage ones... i was tempted (mostly because of the price :!Removed!: ) but i think corbeau's look a lot more special + quality! :D

Those Rage seats aren't that great mate i would seriously recommend actually sitting in the seats before you buy. different seats feel very different to different people.

:hokus-pokus: If the starlet, paseo and sera share the same floor pan and seat mounting holes then maybe if we approached someone saying we could confirm xx amount of orders then maybe they would develop some?? Where's Andrew (toyotasera) when you need him sure he would have a contact

if u know a decent welder/engineers and get some universal frames the chances r they can build u up some mounts shouldnt be a problem. makes sure they like u as they have to be good

Me and my best mate put some rover v8 leather seats in his mini, woz not that difficult at all! all you need to do is get ya old seats, look in yellow pages under mobile welders gey him to come to you house and cut the old seat brackets off and attatch them to the seats. it sounds like a complex job but really it's not that bad. cost my mate 25 quid in the end thought it woz a bargin

has anyone tried using "universal" subframes? - im sure with a bit of patience it could be done...

i know the site admin of www.mitsucolt.co.uk used universals - (cos they have the same prob as paseos) and after 6 dark hours he got it done!

 :hokus-pokus:

ok well this is how im going to fit my celica seats to my paseo,

I am going to drill the four legs off the seat and re-weld them back on to the celica seats, this is the way I would recommend anyone else wanting to fit seats to their car to do it,

The problem with universal subframes and the paseo is the funny angles that it has. I too had a mini which i fitted seats to, which was a piece of cake in comparison , speaking of which anyone know anyone who wants a pair of sports seats for a mini? my bro wrote it of 2 days after i gave it to him!!

welding sounds nasty

so u dont think there would be enough room for universal subframes to work?

hav u got a pic of some celica seats? are they nice?

...lol im guessin so seein as ur havin em

The other option are the TRD brackets for the Corolla, I'm sure these would fit but they're £225.

damn dawg, that much for brackets!!!Welding is ok, as long as u know a good welder that u can trust, if its not done right its dangerous, and will fail the MOT if insecure. I reeally dont have the time at the minute to do it, but as soon as I have I will post pics and advice

do this whip ur seat out, is an easy job, then go to a shop that sells these universal subframes and see if their is anyway u can make it fit,

Universal subframes tend to be quite square based the seo is at all sorts of angles, have a look at the rear 2 bolts on ur seat and u will see what i mean

If required I could get Paseo subframes made. Would need to see a Paseo to get floor template, can't assume its same as Sera or Starlet.

Posted

Andrew how much would this cost & would you require a few people to be interested?

I'm hoping that a design could be made out of sheet metal which could be laser cut and then folded. Could be regarded as a one off, but more reduces cost.

If the design could be used on Seras and Starlets as well, this would help spead costs.

But I'd need to see a Paseo. I've got a Sera and a Starlet.
