Heating only works on passenger side of car, Have had coolant topped up, and recently had new thermostat installed, Car takes about 5 hours of constant driving for "warm" air to filter through to drivers side also temperature goes colder the faster the fan is set.

Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

Try taking out the pollen filter & see if the air flow & temperature is ok.

It may have nothing to do with the filter, but try it to eliminate it.

Cheers,

Marv

Done that thanx still no joy

Might be worth seeing if you have an airlock in the system. Detatch the two hoses going through the bulkhead to the heater matrix and see if it is blocked up or any air in there.

Both the pipes are hot to the touch, would this indicate that there is no airlock

is there still coolant in the expansion tank????? my heater only blew cold air and had to keep topping up with water ,, turned out to be head gasket

If you have a leak in your radiator then the system will not be able to get to the pressure required to attain the operating temperature of the engine. Higher the pressure, higher the boiling point and engines work above normal BP of water.

park both front wheels on a high pavemenet, start the car, remove the radiator cap.

if not heatermatrix could be blocked / damaged
