I have just found out that my navigation disc is knackered,i am after a new disc updated can anybody help or it there a web site that i can download one ?I have got a Toyota Avensis 2004 spirit.

Subject to the restrictions and limitations set forth below, the Consumer can install the ordered Navigation

Map Update for his internal use only.

2.3. Restrictions.

The Consumer does not have the right to distribute, rent, lease or copy the Navigation Map Update to

third parties for commercial or non-commercial use. The Consumer shall not modify, disassemble,

reverse engineer, or decompile the Navigation Map Update, or otherwise reduce any part of the

Navigation Map Update to any human readable form except to the extent the Consumer may be

expressly permitted to decompile under applicable law.

All rights in and to the Navigation Map Update not expressly granted to the Consumer in these Terms and

Conditions are reserved to TME and its Licensors.

TOYOTA AND TOC TAKE THE ISSUE OF ILLEGALLY COPIED SOFTWARE VERY SERIOUSLY AND MEMBERS ARE ADVISED NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS ACTIVITY.

Could it also be against privacy rules for moderators to read PM's on this forum?

I am sure the moderators are aware that there have been forums sued and closed down where it has been shown illegal copies of software has been distributed whether directly or indirectly. As far as I know this also applies to the publication of copyright material. Either of these aspects can be deemed to be illegal so if the mods believe either the forum or they personally are at risk then I believe they should have the right to be aware of the contents of all posts whether they be public or private.

Should the worst happen it would be their necks and wallets on the line.:)

I am not adressing this post directly to the mods but just as general information to forum members.

Hi James, I have read most of your replies to posts on this forum and have great respect for you and your comments, this being so I would not want to cross swords with you in any way, but .... a Personal Message is just what it is, a personal between two people! Now i'm not saying that the moderators do read PM's and I would be very disappointed if they were allowed to, if I find out that they do read my personal messages I shall leave this forum immediately! It's not just about dodgy software it's about private words between me and whoever which should remain private, will it be deemed ok to give someone my email address via a PM on this forum.

By the way, I fully agree that a direct link to a pirate download site has no place openly posted on this forum.

So maybe I should ask the question here and now to the moderators .... Are PM's read by anyone but the person it was sent to, Yes or No?

If you PM me I have sold my T Spirit now and still have a GENUINE version 10 nav disk left for a TNS700. No use to me now.

In answer to your question...........PM's are exactly that and are not seen by the forum moderators.

I would add however that if subsequently proven that pirated software had been exchanged via PM's on the TOC site, TOYOTA would use there utmost legal powers to prosecute ANY offenders
