Heyy,

well i am on a look out for my first car, my grandparents are giving me some money towards it but i am looking to a starlet possibly 1L or 1.3L umm i dont really know what im looking for i have seen a few aorund camrbidge but i dont have much money to buy it with as at the moment i am jsut takin my GCSEs im 17 in december but i want to get it sort of around summer time just wondering if anyone could help me on where to look and how much i should budget for it.

i am workin at the moment and currently saving not just for a car as when i go to college all my ezuiptemtn if going to be over 300£ :(

so if anyone knows of some wehre i cant look in to gettin one from please could you let me know

Hi Hayley,

Good choice on the Starlet, I have owned 2 and now got the Paseo its coupe brother :)

You need to work out what you can afford to spend then you can look into which shape, spec and engine to get. The insurance should be reasonable, insurance group 4 iirc, and the 1.3 16v engine has plenty of pull in it (doesn't slow down when faced with a hill like other cars in it's class).

Realistically you should be looking at 800-1000 for a good example as small cars are holding their value right now, but keep an eye on eBay and you might get lucky.
