Help. I own a 97 Camry LE and it won't start in the mornings. Our hand held computer indicated that the problem was the crankshaft sensor so we replaced it. Next morning nothing! It cranks like crazy just doesn't fire. Once it starts it will start all day long, but come morning, it won't fire again. Please help....

You don't say if it's a 4 or 6 cylinder.

Either way it sounds like a fuel supply problem.

The motor turns over so the starting system is ok,

the thing runs fine once it starts, suggesting it has spark.

Spark tends to work or fail. So if it runs once you get it started through the day. Then it's not spark.

Fuel has to get to the cylinder for the spark to burn it. Do you smell gas when you try to start it?

When it is turning over and not starting, can you get some gas down a carb, or throttle body? If you can the car should fire, maybe not run good, but fire. If it fires then there is a fuel problem.

Good Luck, Hope you have a LOT of Hair.

Gas down a carburetor? In a '97? Even my '87 is fuel injected. :D

Isn't there a cold-start injector that has something to do with starting the car when it's cold?

Open your drivers window (LHD) or passenger (RHD) can you hear a hi pitched buzz/whir if so, have your fuel pump tested.
