Faulty Washer Fluid Bottle

Recommended Posts

Hi, This may be a first on this site but my Aygo is going in to Toyota main dealer next Monday to have the washer fluid bottle checked and if found the fault is as i explained a new one will be fitted under warranty. I had the 20k service done last week at my mates garage (ex Toyota mechanic) and when he went to fill the washer bottle to the top it simply leaked, on further inspection he found the seal midway down the bottle was split, now before anyone says the water must have froze inside i have always kept the recommended mixture of washer fluid inside so i am guessing i am just unlucky with this bottle.....Colin

Interesting ! .....

We recently had two vehicles at work (non Toyota) that had split washer bottles or

washer bottle pipes. It turned out that both drivers had diluted their screeenwash.

Our screenwash should be undiluted in Winter, as that guarantees protection down to

minus 10 degrees C.

Even in Summer it should only be diluted 50/50, as the screenwash is good for removing

dead flies. In October it should be pumped away and replaced by the concentrated stuff.

Well the Aygo went in today to Mr T for them to look at the leaking washer bottle and they agreed that there was a crack in the seal and it is covered under warranty. They have ordered one which should be here in 2 days, but because of work commitments i will not be able to have it fitted till early next week...RESULT !!!!
