Hi guys, newbie here, I've ordered an new Auris TR 1.4 D4d with protection pack yesterday after just a 20min test drive, well impressed with its little diesel engine, its quiet, roomy, and has a decent ride, picking her up in 2 weeks hopefully..

Normally a Honda fan(if I go down the Japanese route), but bought a Prius T spirite a few years ago due to novelty value  , had it for two years and it was totally 110% reliable, not to mentioned next to nothing servicing cost £94 first service and £110 with the second one. Ever since then, I've been recommending friends to buy a Toyota if they wanted a family car thats cheap to run.....

Hello and welcome

I really like mine too. That's after 3years!

Don't be put off by some of the posts this is a support forum after all. Its a new model and we all have different tastes. However I've still not yet seen any posts about significant failure unlike what you on forums like SEAT etc.

Thanks for the welcome, I took no notice of those negative posts, I guess certain members were expecting Toyota to be 100% perfect, due to their percieved image of quality and reliablitiy, so when things don't come upto their expectations, they were massively disappointed.

Without wishing to brag, my usual range of cars were £40k+ and I've had problems with them too..

In fact with the recent recalls, (hope I don't jinxed myself for saying this and touch wood :) )I would expect my Toyota to be built even better than ever due to stricter QC in the factory. Although I must admit if given a choice of Japanese built model or British built ones, I would pick the Jap-built ones :P
