Powershift Energy Grant

Its the 1st of April and the new 2004/2005 Powershift funding is available (£700 for the Prius). The new application forms and Terms and Conditions are available on the EST website and they appear very different to those from last year.

This year they are making a big thing about the fact that you MUST apply for your grant BEFORE you order your new Prius. Once you have received an offer, then you can go ahead and place the order. If you don't you simply won't get it!

I would think thats pretty frustrating if you are eager to get your order in the queue!

Toyota and EST seem to be completely ignoring my letters and emails. I wonder if a cheque is about to arrive ? I'll give it another week and then start giving them some more earache!

I dont believe it !

I wrote again to Toyota and today recived a reply still stating that demonstrators are not eligble, but they are now communicating with the EST to clarify this.

They also point out that funding for the first quarter of the year has now been fully used up, and that even if they do approve my application, I will go to the end of the waiting list, which is a bit unfair as my application went in in March.

The EST say they have no record of any communication from me. I have sent them several emails, but the only email I have received back is one saying thay have no record of my emails DOH!

They assured me that they reply to all emails within one working day. I emailed them again on Monday. Still no reply and its now Wednesday!

Sent you an email with names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of the organ grinders rather than monkeys. Contact these guys and you will get your grant.....probably

After four weeks I finally got a reply from the EST. However they still insist that demonstrators are not eligible for the grant and they are not paying up.

I have held back from writing to my MP until I received a reply from the EST, but I guess its now time to escalate this to higher levels !

I dropped an email to the DfT asking why one demonstrator would be eligible for the grant but not another. Braindead I hope you don't mind me mentioning your name. Today I got a reply stating that there are 'clear differences between yor case and mine' and after having reviewed both cases they are still adamant that I am not eligble.

Braindead in your posting of March 29th you quote from a letter form the DfT which says that demonstrators under 6 months old are eligble. Could you let me know who actually wote that letter ?

Will dig it out later. I suspect they are saying that the new rules allow for the purchase of a demonstrator but also insist that you apply and get accepted before purchase.

Braindead, thanks for the email. The name you mentioned (not surprsingly) is the same person who wrote ro me telling me that demonstators are not eligible. Doh!
