Could do with a bit of pointing 2 or 3 courses down from the eaves Matt!

Nice work, I couldn't believe how good the clay was until I imported some from the USA!

lol, the house is looking a little weathered.

The clay kit used was a meguirs clay and lubricant and after every wash the car is treated to meguirs last touch quick detailer. It so easy to wash even several months on from the treatment of Autoglym products.

That shine is totally amazing.

I remember many many years ago,a friend I used to drive around with had an old car [as we all did] and the boot lid was rotten. we took a piece of sheet metal and lipped it around the edges. It looked OKish but he decided to polish it.

Made a good job of it too!

Couple of nights later, doing our bit checking the local landlords beers were up to scratch, in between pubs we were pulled

up by the police and, as they do today, took a slooow walk around around the car,

I think it was a Triumph and the boot lid was upright.

The reason they gave for stopping us was, they said, because it was like following a mirror and their head lights were reflecting back at them and that was dangerous and we had better get it fixed.sharpish!!

Luckily no breatherlisers then.

You guys with the shiny cars would have had the old boys in blue scratching their heads.

Top polishing jobs though.!

If you are still awake after reading this.I thank you.:yawn::yawn:

I've not tried any polishing machines yet, it's all done by hand, I really do need to get a machine and start having a go at paint correction as both our cars do have swirl marks and light scratches that I would like to get polished out and looking nicer and shinier.

One really good point to a good layer of protection on the paintwork is it's much easier to clean when dirty, I can wash and dry one of our cars in around 2 hours and have them looking very sparkly.

Just thought I'd look in at 04.20 thanks to getting what I think it cramp in my big toe. Had a toe nail removed yesterday and it feels like the RAV is parked on it at the moment so discussing shines is a way of taking my mind off it.

I have quite an extensive collection of Autoglym and have always sworn by it but stopped using the super resin polish some years ago because of chasing a wall off static white dust around was very irritating. I tried several others then after reading somewhere in this forum about Meguires Gold I brought some back from the USA. Last year I brought back Meguires Techwax NXT which might be even better but doesn't smell as nice - I could use gold class instead of custard!

I've now got quite a collection of Meguires and as usual we get stiffed over here as I buy it for peanuts in Walmart (US version of ASDA). They all seem quite good but not found the equivelent of Extra Gloss from Autoglym and will make that a little mission this year. I still use quite a lot of Autoglym interior shampoo but mainly on the mats. I vacuum them every week, then just 2 or 3 squirts of interior shampoo and 3 minutes later a good rub over with a damp old autoglym leather makes them look like new.

Thats another thing! I've not found anything better than an Autoglym synthetic leather - any takers?

Ouch, I bet your toe must really hurt :( hope your feeling better soon.

I've used AutoGlym stuff since my dad swore by it when polishing and protecting his caravan every year. I have to admit, I've heard lots of good reports of meguirs stuff from friends on detailing World but tend to stick with what I know having said that my current car hasn't been treated to anything since I bought it just over 8 weeks ago and I've run out of Auto Glym stuff so maybe it's time to try something new.

Can't help you on the leather cleaning products, our current cars are the 1st we've had for quite a few years with leather so need to get some leather cleaner too. Wonder if Halfords have 3 for 2 on cleaning products, will pop down today and have a look.

You on nights somewhere?

I didn't mean to clean leather I meant for leathering off after washing. I'm not familiar with the new autoglym products and they do things like this aqua polisg which I thinks can be used wet. It might be really good.

Yes, I was on my last night shift the other day.

I see what you mean about the leather, (was quite tired and mis-read it slightly :crybaby: ) . I use Meguiars Last Mequiars Last Touch which appears todo the same as the Autoglym stuff you've shown and dry it off with a waffel weave towel.

The meguirs stuff looks expensive but you mix it 1:1 so it does last quite along time and if you apply it to a wet car obviously you dont need to mix it just spray it staight onto the car when wet after washing.
