i have a 98 avensis 1.8 gls auto. had to fit a new starter motor yesterday, so had to disconnect the Battery. well starter now fine but the 'auto' electric window does not work on the drivers side.

the window opens and shuts with the button but the 'auto' feature of one push to let it open or one pull to let it shut now does not work. It worked fine before i disconnected the Battery.

any ideas would be appreciated

thanks in advance

Just disconnect the Battery again. Don't know why it happens, but it happens when you disconnect the Battery. And is ok after disconnecting it again.

should not have been hasty in posting this, searched the forum and now sorted.

there is a reset proceedure after disconnecting Battery

you have to put the window down and hold the switch down and turn ignition on and off twice, then close the window and hold the switch and again turn ignition switch on and off twice.

now working again

thanks guys!

That sound complicated. Have to write it down before doing it. Much easier just to disconnect the Battery :) Resets your ECU at the same time
