Hi,

I am hoping someone out there can help me!

I have just bought a Celica VVTLI with a blown ECU, the pervious owner replaced the Battery which was too high and when he closed the bonnet it arced, this blow some fuses and fried the ECU.

I have since replaced the ECU with a second hand one. The car still does not start.

Can anyone shed any light into why this may be?

Thanks

I assume you either have replaced the locks so you can use the key that came with the ECU or have had your existing keys programmed into the new ECU??

Failing that the sudden discharge from the Battery may have caused more damage than just fuses & ECU

hi thanks for your reply.

I havent changed the keys can they be programmed for any ecu?

I think you may be right the discharge from the Battery may have cuased more damage than i first thought.

The ecu that i replaced has also blown, will need to do further checks to find out why, If anyone has any ideas please do let me know.

Thanks
