Poor Start Auris T180

Well, first of all my car is now out of warranty and within the last week of still being in it, I raised a problem with Toyota due to the fact that the car starts poorly during most cold starts, it would chug for a good 4 seconds before firing up.

Their first attempt in fixing this was to change the EGR gasket, which helped a little but did not fix it. They had the car overnight and finally diagnosed it as a poor health Battery where there simply wasnt enough current to crank the start during cold conditions, which they replaced free of charge under warranty.

Its been ok since and fingers crossed, it is now properly fixed.

Just want to raise this with you guys incase someone else has the same symptoms but overlook the possibility of a bad Battery.

Hasn't the weather got warmer at the same time???

This is identical to a known problem, a denso piezzo injector problem, my T180 had this problem when it was quite new, it would start on a cold morning on 3 cylinders bounce and smoke for a few seconds then OK. They knew what it was as soon as I took it in, they showed me the tech instruction. They had to remove the injectors, send them to Denso, who then confirm they are faulty and send replacements. a 4 day turn around. They do it this way because they cost a small fortune
