Valve Clearance

Does anyone know how to do the valve clearance on a ep91 starlet sr?

Hello mate i've got a starlet sr to, pritty cirtain thet they are hydraulic tappets not adjustable unless you shim them. are they makin lots of noise?

yeah quite a bit and its ment to be done on the service but not paying toyota prices!

Does anyone know how to do the valve clearance on a ep91 starlet sr?

Does your car not have a label on the underside of the bonnet?

I'm sure this mentions valve clearance for both 4E-FE & 5E-FE engines!!

If it's a 4E-FE:-

Inlets are 0.15-0.25mm (0.006-0.010 thou.)

Exhausts are 0.20-0.30mm (0.008-0.012 thou.)

Clearances to be checked with COLD engine and they are shimmed.
