Hi

I have had my prius since Nov - at first it was extremely slow. Its getting better but still awfully slow. I need to revert to power mode alot. anyone else had a similar issue?

Nope. But it is quicker in power mode.

Pretty much exactly the same speed/acceleration as my old Civic. I suppose it depends on what you are used to. You have taken the brake off ;)

Mine goes pretty much as I would have expected. Have you checked the 0-62 m.p.h. time against the claimed spec? The manufacturer claims 10.4 seconds, which isn't neck-breaking, but presentable for the vehicle and engine type/size.

When you say 'slow', I guess you mean it doesn't accelerate quickly, and not that you can't get it above 30mph?

Are you driving in ECO mode?

This makes the accelerator very non-responsive.

How does it compare with your dealer's demonstrator?

I suppose it depends on what you have driven previously?

The Prius isn't a fast car but 0-60 in 10 seconds and 138 total bhp its not completely slow either.

Could you clarify if the Prius is slow compared to other Priuss (prii?) or just slow to your previous car? If its the former then I'd get it checked by your dealer incase a brake is binding or stuck or maybe an engine fault.
