Hi all

My Corolla Verso just developed fault above, dsc, trc off, and engine light is on. Have read dsc could be red herring as that gets disabled when engine light is on? Treid pressing the TRC button in car but no effect. Also mention about cleaning the EGR valve, seen the good one for auris t180/sr180 on this forum, but wondered if it pretty much same location on verso. Yes i'm not v mech minded. thanks in advance.

Assuming the car a Diesel? If so 2.0 or 2.2? On the the 2.2 its the same as the T180, chances are the 2.0 is very similiar location wise.

Pressing buttons won't do anything at this point, the car should go into a garage or be taken to someone with a code reader to tell you why the Engine Warning Light is on. Codes will have been recorded by the ECU as to why the EWL has come on.

Yeh its a diesel 2.0. I was hoping to not have to take it to a dealer.. but looks like might be the only option. :help:

1 Option, disconnect the negative Battery terminal for 30 mins and the lights will go out unless you have an issue more serious than a hiccup then they will come back on. However if it was me i would like to know whats caused the lights to come on. Note you will loose radio station presets and auto electric windows, this is done at your risk!

You don't have to go to Mr T, most local garages should have a code reader on site and may put the light out for free.
