Can I Bypass The Egr Valve Or Make A Blanking Plate?

Having recently seen the amount of carbon deposited in the EGR and extending into the engine of my car, i realise that this soot build up will only eventually suffocate the system - clogged wastegate & turbo, i have even seen a pair of heads with carbon/soot in the valves!!

Having looked on LandRover forums, i see that some people have created simple tin gaskets that block of the EGR (not sure whether completely or just from one port), thus stopping all the "muck" going back into the engine.

Is this possible with the D4D engine?
