Rav 4 Rear Door

Does anyone have a solution to the fact that the rear door on a '51 plate and '56 plate only open to about 70 degrees. Is there a modified check strap or door hinges available to allow it to open to a full 90 degrees as it is very difficult loading bulky items in. Chest of drawers have been put on the roof because of the poor door opening.

Yes you can buy the check strap for the LHD version which allows the door to open 90 degrees, HOWEVER doing this will cover up the lights when the door is open at night, so if you fit the 90 degree strap, you should also put some reflective/dayglow strip down the edge of the door to warn oncoming traffic
