Remote Central Locking Fault

Hi, I have a 2001 Y reg celica and lately the remote locking has been acting up. it take many clicks of the button for the car to actually unlock and sometimes does not unlock at all resulting in me opening it with the key physically.

Now everyone i ask says the same thing "its just the battery" well no it aint haha i have changed the Battery in both my primary and spare key and both have the same problem. unfortunatly now 1 of the keys doesnt work at all now

help please

What about locking, does it lock ok normally - or does that require a few clicks of the button too?

Mine never responds to a simple click of the button, I generally have to press and hold it for about a second.
